If you’re a wine lover in South Florida, you’d probably be delighted with a calendar like this one – http://www.localwineevents.com/events/listing/us/18/boca-raton-wine. It gives a detailed listing of wine events throughout Boca Raton, so definitely have a look, and feel free to adjust the city according to your needs. The information there could be a little overwhelming, so I’ll list a couple of my favorite wine events to watch for.
To start, there’s the Flamingo Gardens’ Gala in the Gardens. An annual fundraising wine event that includes a silent auction and pairs food samplings from area restaurants with various premium wines, it’s definitely going to be a lovely evening. Held on Sunday, February 10, from 5-8 PM, more information can be found here – http://www.flamingogardens.org/Gala_in_the_Gardens.html. The cost is $40 – $60, depending on whether or not you’re a member and whether you purchase tickets in advance or at the door. There are also $65 – $75 VIP tickets available, giving you special seating privileges, and allowing you to partake in exclusive wine tastings from the International Wine Imports Gallery. Six French and six Italian premium wines will be tasted.
Next, we have the Valentine Weekend Menu at Lighthouse Point. Held by Le Bistro, for just $50 per person you can attend a romantic Valentine’s Day wine dinner. Bring your special someone and make a night of it – the event runs from 5-11 PM. With a special menu devised just for the occasion, it’s guaranteed to be a great night. According to the owner it will be featuring wines Francois Montand Brut Blanc de Blancs, Pomelo Sauvignon Blanc, Tortoise Creek Pinot Noir, and for the dessert wine Chateau de Stony. It most certainly will delight your palate, in both food and wine. It’s held on Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14.
Finally we have the 3rd Annual Deerfield Beach Wine & Food Festival, “A Blue Wave Affair!” Located in Deerfield Beach, running from Friday, April 26 – Sunday, April 28 starting at 6 PM, this wine event is a must-attend for wine lovers. Ranging from the VIP Dinner Under The Stars on Friday, April 26, 7-10 PM; a four course food and wine pairing event that gives you your very own personal chef and wine sommelier, to the Jazz Bubbles & Brunch on Sunday, April 28, 11 AM -2 PM; a wine party event filled with Jazz, brunch stations featuring fresh fruit and the catch of the day, and lots of bubbles.
